Cedar House

Support Worker - Respite service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Support Workers to join Making Space, a national charity providing Health & social care services, basedat our Cedar House service in Spalding PE11 1QF.

Cedar House is a 7 bed respite service which offers care and support to our service users for short stays giving parents and carers respite. The service is small and has a personable, friendly, home from home atmosphere and the team have a good rapport with family members and carers. The skills, knowledge and individuality of our staff members all contribute to our good reputation and what makes our service exceptional.

Salary: £8.35 per hour

Hours: 30 hour and 20 hour contracts are available working various shifts including weekends and bank holidays

The Role:

-       Providing various levels of care and support to service users including those with complex needs and challenging behaviour

-       Encourage independence

-       Prompt medication

-       Completing various domestic tasks including Laundry, ironing and cleaning

-       Food Preparation

-       Encourage and engage service users in activities

-       This a varied role where no two days are the same.

 

About You:

-       Enthusiastic and outgoing with a larger than life personality

-       Have a positive outlook on life and a passion to care for others

-       Be creative and resourceful and able to think out of the box

-       Adaptable and versatile and able to work alone and in a team environment

-       Take pride in your work, exceptional attention to detail and reliability are essential.

-       Previous care experience is desirable although not essential as a robust induction and continuous training will be provided.
