Congratulations to Conor Giles, who is the first ever recipient of the LinCA Chair’s Commendation Award!
This special prize is to be presented every year to the LinCA member of staff who is seen as ultimately the unsung hero of the LinCA team.
Conor joined LinCA in April 2021 on the government’s Kickstart programme which aimed to get young people into employment in roles which are normally not available in mainstream recruitment.
Since he started with LinCA, Conor has undertaken a number of administrative roles to support workforce development, careers and most recently LinCA membership.
He feels that his greatest strength is patience under pressure, and his work colleagues see him as reliable and a great team player who is always willing to support others.
Outside work Conor is currently training to be a grief counsellor, and if he gets any other spare time he plays video games and goes to kick boxing classes.
“Conor is extremely supportive and always enthusiastic to take on new challenges,” said his line manager Sue Lovelock. “I’m delighted that he’s won this very well deserved award.”
Conor was presented with his award and a special prize by Melanie Weatherley MBE, Chair of LinCA , at the recent LinCA Care Awards Unsung Hero judging panel this week, where he was himself part of the judging panel!
